Biyopolitika Kavramına Dair Bir Soruşturma
Abstract
Government of people or how to govern people has been manifested as one of the principal matters in the history of philosophy. Countless questions and problems have been put forward as to the extent of the field of politics, where the boundaries of politics start and where they end, which institutions the politics cover, who can be governed with which justification. The answers proposed to these have been diversified recently in connection with the developments and emerging crises in the field of real politics. In this framework, the concept of “biopolitics” starting to gain a central position in the discussions in the context of political philosophy by the influence of Michel Foucault’s recent works, has started to be used in various meanings by different scholars. However, the larger the meaning range of the concept gets, the more ambiguous its use becomes. Therefore, it has become inevitable to carry out a philosophical investigation into what this concept is.
