Since algebra seems discrete to students, they have difficulty and face serious obstacles in the process of learning mathematics. Algorithms can be used to overcome these obstacles and to positively affect students' attitudes towards algebra. The algorithm, which allows creating solution steps in a logical order to solve a problem, is used in every area of our lives. Some of these applications can help students develop their thinking skills. Flow Chart, is also used to show complex problems with easy diagrams and to create a diagram of the in a certain order for the solution of the problem. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the Flow Chart application on students' algebra achievement and attitudes towards algebra. The study has a static group pre-test post-test design. The sample of the study consists of 41 seventh grade students studying in a public school. A lesson plan including Flow Chart application was applied to the experimental group, and the control group was prepared in accordance with the given education and training program. Algebraic expressions achievement test was applied to both groups as a pre-test before the application and as a post-test after the application. In addition, the algebra attitude test was applied to both the experimental and control groups as a pre-test and post-test to examine the effect of the application on the attitude towards algebra. According to the findings, it was observed that the Flow Chart application created a significant difference in the achievement in algebraic expressions.
