Hüseyin Hüsâmeddin Yasar is an author who conducted research on Turkish culture, history and literature and wrote various works. The most comprehensive and well-known of his works is undoubtedly his History of Amasya. Hüseyin Hüsâmeddin Yasar, who started his research and investigations with the aim of writing the life stories of scholars and famous people living in Amasya, expanded the scope of his work and turned it into a general Turkish history. Since he wrote his work centred on Amasya, his work has become one of the pioneers of city history studies. The work differs from other field studies in terms of its content, scope and narration. Due to the information he provided in the narration of the events, which is not found in other sources, various opinions about the work and the author have emerged within the field studies. The criticisms and praises made about the work differed according to the period that the researchers were examining, since the work covers a wide historical range. Especially the period of Amasya under Ottoman rule has been intensively analysed by the researchers. The information he conveyed about this period was compared with the sources of the period and the accuracy of the information was tried to be determined. In addition, Hüseyin Hüsâmeddin's understanding of history, his comments on events and his conclusions have been emphasised. When we look at the studies and researches about the work and the author, it is seen that the Ottoman Empire period is mainly analysed. However, the information he conveyed and the comments he made about the early periods of Anatolia, which is at least as valuable as the Ottoman period, have been left in the background. This thesis aims to focus on this neglected part of the work and to examine the source value of the information it contains and Hüseyin Hüsameddin's historiography in general.
