The aim of this study is to determine the level of achievement of eighth grade students in Türkiye to the objectives common to the secondary school mathematics curriculum of Türkiye and developed countries in the field of mathematics. The sample of this study, which used a descriptive research method, consisted of 538 eighth grade students and 15 mathematics teachers in secondary schools located in the 1st service area and 1st service region in all central districts of Ankara. In the study, the features that countries want to achieve in secondary school mathematics curriculum were determined through document analysis and the level of achievement of the common objectives of eighth grade students in Türkiye was determined by the mathematics achievement test. Teachers opinions on were also taken regarding the factors affecting the students’ level of achievement of the common objectives. The quantitative data of the study were analyzed with descriptive statistics and qualitative data were analyzed with deductive analysis method. As a result of the research, it has been observed that the curriculum compared were mostly similar in terms of objectives, but differed in terms of the grade levels to be achieved. The level of achievement of eighth grade students in Türkiye to the common objectives countries has been determined as 63% and it has been concluded that the desired level could not be reached because it was below 75%. Teachers’ opinions on the other hand revealed information that supported students’ failure to reach common objectives at the expected level.
