Türkiye'de Timur Çalışmalarının Dünü Bugünü: Yöntem ve Yaklaşımlar
Özet
Amir Timur, one of the most famous names in Turkish history, and the Timurid State he
founded have been a subject of interest to many historians. It has been the subject of
research mostly in Uzbekistan, the homeland of Amir Timur, as well as in other former
Soviet countries and other countries, and has taken up a large place in the literature.
There are many studies on the Timurid State in Turkey, one of the developed countries in
the field of historiography among the Turkish States. So much so that these studies
themselves deserve a study in terms of their volume, quality and the fact that there is a lot
of discussion on them. Therefore, it seems an important necessity to re-evaluate the
existing literature that has accumulated in the current situation and to try to create a
balance sheet of Timurid studies in Turkey.
As far as I can determine, 55 books, more than 130 articles and more than 30 translated
books have been published on the Timurid State in Turkey from its foundation to the
present day, as opposed to 10 doctoral dissertations and 31 master's theses. It is possible
to find a list of these studies in the thesis. Among these, we tried to analyze the works
that brought new insights to Timurid studies and contributed greatly to this field and
evaluated them in terms of approach and method.
