It is women who shape and raise societies. For this reason, it is very important for a woman to discover herself, to decide who they are to act with pure thought away from the perception of women determined by the male mentaily.
It is known that women have a role in the regulation of intra-family relations in ensuring the continuity of yhe family. The bride-mother-in-law relationship, which is an important form of relationship in family relations, also play an important role in domestic relations in Turkish culture. Since the conditions in which the woman who determines the relations within the familya re raised will be in line with her self-education and perception of life women in Turkish culture are discussed in the first part of the thesis. The place of women in Turkish culture has been examined in the historical process and how it is handled in folk literature products such as proverbs, idioms, stories, fairy tales and written sources. In the second part the feminist theory that constitues the point of view of the thesis its sub-branches and the formation of the feminist movement in Turkey are examined.
In the third part which is the last part of this thesis studies in the context of oral culture the factors determining the relationship between the bride and mother-in-law are examined as a result of the interviews with the source persons. The reasons fort his relationship to be positive and negative were discussed and suggestions were presented fort he progress of this relationship as a positive relationship.
