In this study, the details of the Ancient Greek sound system and theory, namely the characteristics of the modes (harmonai), the tunings and melody organizations of the periodic instruments will be examined, and the musical partnerships dating back to the Byzantine period will be tried to be understood through instruments. Afterward, the music-based relations between the Ancient Greek period and the Medieval Islamic period will be discussed in the context of the sound system, melody organizations and the maqam-mode relationship through the harp- çeng relationship. In the last phase, Mode-Maqam-relationship in the 20th century will be discussed through Adnan Saygun's understanding of Töre, and the effect of Ancient Greek modes on today's maqam structures and sound system will be discussed.
