Abstract
Kutanöz Leishmaniasis (CL) caused by Leishmania infantum, is highly endemic in Adana, which is one of the most important provinces in Cukurova Plain. Phlebotomus tobbi (Adler and Theodor, 1930), the dominant species, is the proven vector of Leishmania infantum/donovani in this region. It is known that, Phlebotomus perfiliewi s.l. (Parrot, 1930), the other abundant species in the region, is also the proven vector of L. infantum in neighbouring countries of Turkey. Recently, a rapid increase in the number of KL cases reported from the region was observed. Furthermore, there are many reports on the emergence of new Leishmania species came from Cukurova Region. The aim of this study is to evaluate the spatial, temporal and climatic differences of the data obtained from sand fly fauna research studies, conducted in Adana province, in 2006, 2011 and 2012.
