5, 6 ve 7. Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Yüzdeler Konusunda Sayı Duyularının İncelenmesi
Abstract
The aim of this research was to investigate 5, 6 and 7th grade students number sense related to percent in terms of their grade level, gender and components of number sense.The study group consists of 454 5, 6 and 7th grade level students from four different secondary schools located in Kırıkkale. This study was determined as a descriptive study which is aimed to describe some characteristics of the current population. The number sense test related to percent consisting of 15 questions used as an instrument in this study was developed by the researcher. T-test and the analysis of variance were used as quantitative statistics to examine participants number sense related to percent in terms of grade level, gender and components of number sense.The result of the research showed that the performance of students on number sense questions related to percent was low. The results also revealed that students tended to use rule based methods while solving percent problems.
