Engelli Sürücülerin Aktivite Performanslarını Etkileyen Kişisel, Çevresel ve Aktiviteye Ait Faktörlerinin İncelenmesi
Özet
This study was planned to analyse environmental and personal factors on disabled drivers’ performance on driving a manner of Person-Environment-Occupation (PEO) model. 20 orthopedical, 20 neurological disabled and 20 non-disabled persons were included to the study. Personal factors about driving were evaluated with range of motion (ROM) assessments, manuel muscle testing, Standardized Mini Mental State Test (SMMT), Loewenstein Occupational Therapy Cognitive Assessment (LOTCA), trail making test, rapid pace walk test and alternating foot tap test. Environmental factors that effecting driving were evaluated with The Craig Hospital Inventory of Environmental Factors and semi-structured interview methods, review of recent laws and orders about disabled drivers, occupational factors that effecting driving were evaluated with semi-structured interview methods. Semi-structured interview methods consist of activity satisfaction and importance, assistive technology besides demographical information. According to our studies results, ROM results in both study groups were in functional limits. Upper extremity muscle strenght in both groups were found above limits that described by American Medical Association (AMA); lower ekstremity muscle strenght found below limits that described by AMA. Statistically significance were found between neurological and control group, orthopedic and control group in SMMT, visio-motor organisation and thinking operations sub-scales of LOTCA (p<0,05). But SMMT scores provided AMA standard values. There were statistically significance in trail making test, rapid pace walk test and alternating foot tap test results in neurology and control group (p<0,05), but there were no statistically significance in same test between orthopedic and control group (p>0,05). There were statistically significance between control group and both orthopedic and neurological groups CHIEF-SF (p<0,05). Persons in neurological group defined barriers in services/assistance areas and orthopedical group defined barriers in politics and services/assistance areas. According to these results personal-environmental and activity related factors effects on driving activity were discussed. As a result, disabled drivers activity performance in our country could be effected by personal, environmental and activity related factors and these three factors should be considered in evaluations, interventions and legal regulations.
