İran'daki Türklerde Spor ve Toplumsal Hareket İlişkisi: Traxtor Futbol Takımı Örneği

Abstract

In this study the relationship between, social movements, nationalism and identity of fan of has been discussed. Traxtor Football Club, which was established in 1970, takes part in Iran Football League from city of Tabriz, Eastern Azerbaijan province. There were always assimilatory policies during Iran s political policy. At the other hand, identity and nationalism were the factors which have been used as reactions against these policies. In this study the role of the Traxtor FC, as the symbol of Turks in Iran, has been evaluated in directing these reactions. Based on qualitative methodology three focus groups, two male and one female groups of fans, were established.
