Being one of the outstanding architects of our architectural history both in the last years of Ottoman Empire and the first years of the Republic, Giulio Mongeri taught in the Academy of Fine Arts and raised the architects of the future and undertook an effective role in the architectural understanding of the next generation. In our study, Giulio Mongeri is appraised in the light of new information found about his family and person.Mongeri built structures in İstanbul in the last years of Ottoman Empire and preferred majorly western originated eclectic style in this period.
