At the beginning of 1890s, Yıldız Çini Fabrika-i Hümâyûnu, which has been established by the orders of Sultan Abdulhamid II at the Yıldız Palace garden, has not only been an important step for the Ottoman Industry, but has also become a mean to manifest its prestige towards western societies.Starting from its establishment in 1894 till 1909, the year the factory ceased production, the Yıldız Çini Fabrika-i Hümâyûnu, have produced unique works, which could compete with European products based on which Ottoman Modernization can be traced. During its early years of production, the products seem to be highly influenced by the works of the French Sévres and Limoges porcelains.
