In this study, based on the theory of Pierre Bourdieu, the focus is on the theater
taste of the audience of Ankara State Theaters. In this context, the establishment,
development and relationship of the State Theaters with the field of politics are
discussed with the concept of “field”, and the spectator's tastes are examined in the
context of habitus, cultural capital and cultural consumption. In the study, which
used quantitative research method, a questionnaire was applied to 200 people in the
spectator of the State Theater in Ankara and the data were evaluated with Multiple
Correspondence Analysis (MCA). According to the main results of the study, the
taste of the spectator in the State Theaters in Ankara is related to social space.
