Abstract
Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is a chronic widespreadpain syndrome accompanied by other symptoms such as depression, fatigue or sleepdisturbances. We evaluated cutaneous microvascular functions and their correlationswith severity of disease assessed by fibromyalgia impact questionnaire (FIQ) in FMSpatients before and after participation in a moderate intensity 4-wk aerobic physicalexercise program. Forty female FMS patients without any known cardiovasculardiseases and 20 healthy age-matched female controls were included in the study.FMS were diagnosed in accordance with the American College of Rheumatology2010 criteria. Cutaneous blood flow was measured by a laser Doppler flowmeter(LDF) at the volar skin site of the forearm. Spectral analysis, integral of frequencybands of the normalized power spectral density (PSD) function of LDF signal wasused to assess the relative contribution of control mechanisms. The local thermalhyperemia was used to test the microvascula
