Determining of The Effect of Solution Focused Brief Approach’s on Coping Skills With The Peer Bullying, Hacettepe University Graduate School of Health Sciences, Department of Public Health Nursing Doctorate Thesis, in Ankara, 2019. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a solution focused brief approach on adolescents' coping skills with peer bullying. In the study, pre test-post test control group design was used in non-randomized groups. The intervention group of the study consisted of 34 8th grade students in a school in Çankaya district and 34 8th grade students in another school with similar characteristics in the same district. As data collection tool personal information tool and Adolescent Peer Relations Instrument was used. The personal information form and the Adolescent Peer Relations Instrument were implied to the students in the intervention and control groups before the implementation. Then, a total of eight session solution focused brief approach was implied to the students in the intervention group between 06 March and 28 April 2017, one course per week. Immediately after the implementation, Adolescent Peer Relations Instrument was applied to the intervention and control group students. Follow-up measurements were performed one month after the end of the sessions. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 22.0 program. For the descriptive statistics, mean ± standard deviation, number and percentage representation, and median minimum-maximum values were used. After the solution focused brief approach, the Adolescent Peer Relations Instrument of the students who formed the intervention group, the total final test score of bullying, verbal bullying, emotional bullying and physical bullying final test score, emotional victimization, physical victimization and victimization total posttest score were significantly higher than the control group. (p <0.05). In line with these results, it can be suggested that solution focused brief approach should be used as an effective method in schools for coping with bullying on the basis of health promotion practices by nurses who take the necessary education and randomized studies for different sample groups and different subjects.
