Özet
The aim of this study is to determine the level of self-efficacy and attitudes of teachers who graduated from science education and classroom teacher departments to use creative drama method in science class, and the relationships and opinions between various demographic variables at these levels. Mixed research design was used in this study and the research group was consisted of 425 science and classroom teachers who worked in different geographical regions of Turkey in the 2016-2017 academic year. In the quantitative part of the research, "Self-efficacy and Attitude Scale Toward the Process of Science and Technology with Drama Method" developed by Altıntaş and Kaya (2012) was applied as data collection tools. Interviews were conducted by preparing semi constructed interview form with 10 teachers selected from the post-scale study group. As the quantitative data obtained in the study were analyzed by SPSS program, qualitative data were analyzed by descriptive analysis and content analysis. As a result of the research, it was observed that the proficiency of teachers to use creative drama in the science class was moderate and generally sufficient. In addition to high positive attitudes towards the processing of science lessons with creative drama, it was observed that the drama method leads to time loss, it is difficult to prepare the lesson plan, the targeted gains can not be reached, and they had negative attitudes regarding the noise caused during the drama. Once the opinions of the teachers were taken into consideration, it was seen that 5 of the 10 interviewed teachers actively used the drama method and it was observed that the drama method helped students to become more active, to develop self-confidence, to maintain consistency in the subjects, to embody and to make lessons very productive.
