This study was planned to determine the validity, reliability and sensitivity of the Cognitive Exercise Therapy Approach (Bilişsel Egzersiz Terapi Yaklaşımı-BETY) Scale for individuals diagnosed with fibromyalgia. 150 patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia were included in the study. Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS), The Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ), Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ) and Short Form-36 (SF-36) and were used for validity of the BETY Scale. The correlation of BETY scale with other scales was found moderate to high (respectively r=0.591, p<0.001 and r=0.441, p<0.001; r=-0.419, p<0.001; r=0.617, p<0.001; r=0.722, p<0.001; r=-0.580 and -0.374, p=0.001 and p<0.001). The test-retest method was used for reliability and the correlation between the responses of 30 patients to the BETY Scale for 1 week was very high (r=0.901, p<0.001). Cronbach's α (0.947) and intraclass coefficients (ICC) reliability (0.899, p<0.001) were also used for internal consistency. The internal consistency was found high. For the sensitivity of the scale, the correlation of the time dependent changes of the BETY Scale with all scales was checked after 3 months. While showing low correlation with other scales, BETY scale moderately correlated with HADS (HADS-A r=0.489, p=0.006 , HADS-D r=0.500 , p=0.005). As a result of our study, it was concluded that the BETY Scale is a valid, reliable and sensitive for FMS patients.
