Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey Üniversitesi Türk Dili Ve Edebiyati Bölümü ile Bakü Devlet Üniversitesi Azerbaycan Dili Ve Edebiyatı Bölümü Öğrencilerinin Okuma Alışkanlıkları Üzerine Karşılaştırmalı Bir İnceleme
Abstract
Having both the reading and library usage habits affects young people's educational life positively. For this reason, it is important to examine the reading and library usage habits of the undergraduate level young teacher candidates from the point of view the effects of the education department and to overcome the existing deficiencies related to the subject.
In this study were examined the thoughts, attitudes and behaviors of the last year students of Karamanoglu Mehmetbey University (KMU) Turkish Language/Literature (TLL) and Baku State University (BSU) Azerbaijan Language/Literature (ALL) Department. In this context the main purpose of this research is; to reveal which factors arise the similar and different features about reading habits of KMU Turkish Language/Literature and BSU Azerbaijan Language/Literature Departments last year students that despite having common culture taking place in different regions (Turkey and Azerbaijan).
In total from both universities 187 students were participated in this research.
In this research were used description and comparison methods and the results were evaluated in the SPSS 21 program.
The result of this research shows that, the socio-economic status of Azerbaijan Language/Literature (ALL) and Turkish Language/Literature (TLL) Department students is in the middle. Both department students find childhood and youth periods important in acquiring reading habits. Students of these two department were encouraged by teachers to gain reading habits more than librarians. In general, the two comparative department students have more similar features according reading and library usage habits than dissimilarities.
