1880-1895 Yılları Arasında Yayımlanmış Şiir Kitapları Üzerine Bir İnceleme

A group of poets, who are called the middle generation and couldnt find a place in most of the history of literature, actively wrote and published poems especially between 1880-1895. In light of our research, we evidently demonstrate this case with 54 poets and 104 poetry books they published that we found. Of those 54 poets, while poets such as Ahmed Reşâd (1851-1914), Ahmed Servet (?), Ali Ruhi (1853-1890), Andelib (1873-1902), Diyarbakırlı Baki (1865-1912-17), Erganili Mesud (?), Eyüp Sabri (1865-?), Galib Avni (1863-?), H. Razi (?), Hayrullah (?), Mahmud Kemaleddin Fenari (1863-1888), Mustafa Hayati (?), Sadık Vicdani (1864-1939), Şeyh Vasfi (1851-1910) pursued classical understanding of poetry, other poets such as Abdullah Cevdet (1869-1932), Abdülhalim Memduh (1866-1905), Abdülkerim Hadi (1874-?), Ali Ulvi (?), İsmail Hakkı (1871-1944), İsmail Safa Safa (1867-1901), Mehmed Abdurrahman (1867-?), Mehmed Selahaddin (?), Menemenlizâde Mehmed Tahir (1862-1903), Nabizâde Nazım (1863-1893), Nigâr Hanım (1862-1918), Nureddin Ferruh (1876-?) have been in search for a new poetry inspired by the 2nd generation Tanzimat Poets that is constituted by Abdülhak Hamid (1852-1937) and Recaizâde Mahmud Ekrem (1847-1914) and altered and improved the poetry in terms of its content, form, meter and rhyming and became the pioneers of Servet-i Funûn. In this study we tried to provide information about who these ignored poets are and the poetry books they published, and; reveal how right before serveti funun poetry was formed by explaining the themes, verse types, meters, understanding of rhyming used in these books in detail.
