Özet
Furniture sector is of vital importance in industrial sector in Turkey with value-added that
it generates in terms of both employment and manufacturing. In this context, both because
of its strategic importance and because of its key role in employment by currently keeping
its labour intensive feature, furniture sector needs to be handled in a delicate way.
A great many of enterprises operating in furniture sector in Turkey comprises of Small and
Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) as in the whole world. The problems that SMEs
operating in Turkish furniture sector have are similar to the ones that SMEs in other sectors
have and the sector have problems mainly in design, quality, manufacturing and marketing.
Among these, marketing problem with its sub-details and contents has been focused on in
this study.
Within the scope of the research carried out, a quantitative technique, survey method has
been employed on “Marketing Problems of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in
Furniture Sector and Solution Offers to These” on the basis of enterprises operating in
District of Siteler in Ankara and the data below have been collected.
The data have been acquired through face-to-face interviews with 100 interviewee
including such individuals as enterprise owners, partners, sales marketing staff. While

some of the questions for data analysis have been asked through 5 point Likert scale, the
other ones have been yes-no questions.
The results having occurred after the research have been presented in such a way that they
introduce perspectives with all components towards marketing problem of the SMEs
operating in furniture sector in District of Siteler in Ankara
