The artist's books, which are designed together with the book form, the typography with
the paper and the eye, the quality of the print that is meet with hand, is a new look into the
book form beyond the text only document and written information. This new version of the
book, which does not suffice only with digital information but also contains physical
information, is presented to the user designing as a physical structure. The artist books,
where the reader is not a text reader, can also read the form, the typography and the
material of the book, is a direct object of art as opposed to the classical book sense of
responsibility to convey knowledge. As long as there are customers who want to
experience the book form as an experience on their own, rather than as a reader, artist
books will be worth producing. The artist books that present these objective and physical
values and the aesthetic realities that have been determined for centuries with new
materials and forms will continue to expand and continue to exist.
In the first chapter of this thesis study, the origin of book and its word meaning are
mentioned. The second chapter focuses on the historical change of the book and its
position after the industrial revolution. The elements forming the book, the structure of the
book and the forms of book production are mentioned in the third chapter. In the third

to the book are analyzed and the communication power that the book has established with
the help of the book’s form has been discussed. In the fifth chapter, the new situation of
the book as an art object has been examined. The past, the present and the future of artist
books are studied in the sixth chapter. The sixth section deals with the findings of this
research and the proposal for implementation with these achievements.
