While the screen printing technique was initially used to make prints on textiles, it became popular with Pop Art and encouraged the masses to make screen prints. It has been separated from other printing techniques with innovations in machinery and dye technologies. As a contemporary artistic printing technique, it has not only progressed technically from past to present, but has also been used in different fields of art. It has gained conceptual content over time and incorporates innovation and tradition. In this way, the prints produced by contemporary artists with the screen printing technique have become an integral part of creative activities. This study has determined its approach to the subject under three main headings. In the first part, the historical process of printmaking is briefly touched upon and the axis on which it progresses is discussed. In the second part, the position of screen printing among traditional techniques is evaluated. Works of art produced with screen printing technique as an artistic tool from the Pop Art period to the present day are analyzed. The experimentalism and usage areas of the screen printing technique, which is a contemporary medium, are emphasized and important formations that have contributed to the development of screen printing in Turkey from 1960 to the present are included. In the last section, the concepts of space and void are reinterpreted through the technical possibilities of screen printing. The transformation of a geometric structure by detaching it from its context in the process is discussed. The buildings constructed with industrialization were designed with more rational and functional concerns. These structures reflect the impositions of the rational forms of organization of the modern period and can be defined as functional spaces where people spend only a part of their daily lives. However, space should be more than just a place to be, it should be a space where one feels one belongs. In this sense, it is emphasized that space should function as a refuge and should be in constant interaction with the individual's sense of belonging. Considering that abandonment and the destruction of space have an emotional dimension for spaces just like individuals, the transformation of idle spaces is addressed. In the selected spaces, productions were realized using screen printing technique. It is aimed to reveal the importance and effects of screen printing in both academic and practical terms. It is aimed to increase the sources on contemporary screen printing and to add a new source to the Turkish sources about the history of the technique.
