| dc.description.abstract | The aim of this thesis is to present an analysis of Butler and Irigaray's critique of Psychoanalysis. The impact of Lacanian law and symbolic order on gender identities is analyzed from the perspective of both thinkers. In the first part, Irigaray's theory of sexual difference and its relation to psychoanalysis are discussed and her criticisms of femininity, phallus-centrism and the body are presented. In the second part, what sex and gender are in Butler's theory and how gender is constructed in Freud and Lacan's theories are discussed. The opposing positions of Irigaray and Butler against the law imposed by symbolism are analyzed. | tr_TR |

| dc.description.ozet | Bu tezin amacı Butler ve Irigaray’ın Psikanalize dair eleştirilerinin bir analizini ortaya koymaktır. Lacan’cı yasanın ve sembolik düzenin cinsiyet kimlikleri üzerindeki etkisi her iki düşünür açısından ele alınarak incelenmiştir. İlk bölümde Irigaray’ın cinsel fark teorisi ve psikanalizle olan ilişkisine değinilerek dişiliğe, fallus merkezciliğe ve bedene dair eleştirileri sunulmuştur. İkinci bölümde ise Butler’ın teorisinde cinsiyet ve toplumsal cinsiyetin ne olduğu, Freud ve Lacan’ın teorilerinde toplumsal cinsiyetin nasıl kurulduğu mesele edilmiştir. Semboliğin dayattığı yasaya karşı Irigaray ve Butler’ın birbirine karşıt konumları analiz edilmiştir. | tr_TR |
