Eğitsel Veri Okuryazarlığı Yeterlik Algısı Ölçeği: Bir Ölçek Geliştirme Çalışması

In early childhood, when the speed of development is high decisions to be made about children, activities to be implemented or measures to be taken will ensure that they spend their childhood and later periods in a healthier way. Data literacy, which is a part of data-based decision-making, includes the ability to transfer questions into a formula using data and answer these questions. In this context, educational data literacy is defined as the ability to accurately observe, analyze and respond to different types of data in order to continuously improve teaching and learning in the classroom or school. In this research, it is aimed to develop a competence perception scale for preschool teachers' educational data literacy. For this purpose, the necessary resources, structures, processes for educational data literacy have been examined and the factors affecting educational data literacy and the implications for improving it have been investigated. In the research, screening method, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. In the 2022-2023 academic year, 579 preschool teachers working in preschool education institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in 81 provinces in Turkey participated in the study. The research was carried out via an online link using the random assignment method.
The data analysis of the research was carried out using the SPSS data analysis program. In the analysis of the data, IBM SPPS 22.0 package programs were used for explanatory factor analysis and reliability analysis, and IBM AMOS 24.0 package programs were used for confirmatory factor analysis. It has been seen that the Educational Data Literacy Competence Perception Scale developed as a result of the study is a valid and reliable measurement tool.
