Abstract

In the first part, the increase in the use of fossil fuels after the Industrial Revolution and environmental problems such as global warming and climate change are discussed. The negative effects on the animal populations living in that region after the melting of the glaciers in the polar regions and the rupture of large-scale glaciers are examined. In the second part, how the modern man, who broke away from nature, has included nature in art on an international scale, and the relations of movements such as Land Art and Ecological Art with nature are mentioned. While investigating the use of ready-made material from nature as an art object, transforming and conceptualizing nature as a space in the changing art environment after the 1960s, the importance of the projects and artistic arrangements in their approach to nature in the movement and the works of important artists whose influence continues in the field of art today are discussed. In addition, the way in which the artists take nature as an issue in the artistic production process is examined in line with their artistic production. In the third part, various animals that try to survive in the polar region in nature are discussed and included in the field of ceramic art. Especially the extinction of some animals living in the region is considered as an irreversible global disaster. In order to draw attention to this disaster, the figures of animals living in the poles and in danger of extinction are transformed into ceramic forms and ceramic surface works in order to draw attention to the increasing destruction of nature today.
