This work compares the key reasons from the German Pop literature that specifies the turn of 90s in Germany towards the work of Hakan Günday. The initial point of the so called German Pop literature is the novel Faserland from Christian Kracht. Kracht reflects life through pop music as a key topic, clashes of generations, youth and society, gender trouble and sexuality, criticism of society, travel writing, label fetishism, drug consumption, hopelessness of the youth, death of main characters are key points in his novels, which are presented through an ironical style. Similar visions can be seen in Hakan Gündays novel Kinyas ve Kayra, which is famous belong young Turkish readers. His unusual and direct style without taboos ranks his writings that cannot be classified in a certain categorie yet, in a new field of Turkish literature. Günday as well uses nearly the same motives like Kracht in his novel Kinyas ve Kayra. The aim of this work is to compare sorted novels Faserland and Kinyas ve Kayra according the key notes of German Popliterature. This work for a master degree proves the parallels of Kracht and Günday and tries to prove their similarities.
