Türkiye'deki Reseda L. (Resedaceae) Cinsinin Taksonomik Revizyonu
Abstract
Resedaceae is distributed in temperate and subtropical regions of northern hemisphere and is represented by 6 genera and approximately 85 species worldwide. The family is represented by only genus Reseda L. in Turkey by 18 taxa, including 15 species, 7 endemic species (%38) and 10 endemic taxa (%55), which grow indigenously. In terms of the number of species, Turkey is the second largest country after Iberian peninsula. The species in genus Reseda are distributed mainly in Mediterranean basin and Anatolian-Touranian phytogeographical region and represented by approximately 65 species worldwide, are perennial herbs. They grow in limestone, gypseous soil and arid, sub-arid climates. As the identification key of the species is based on complicated petal morphology, it is difficult to identify the species. One of the aims of the revision of genus Reseda in Turkey is to resolve this difficulty.
This study is carried out between 2013-2016. A new Reseda identification key is generated based on macroscopic morphological characters, descriptions of the species and geographical distributions are updated, inflorescence and infructescence periods and phytogeographical regions of the species are given, as well as the illustrations and photographs of each species.
As a result of taxonomical evaluation, R. inodora var. anatolica is recorded as new status, R. lutea var. nutans has been suggested as synonymy of R. lutea var. lutea, and it is concluded that R. coodei is not synonymy of R. armena var. scabridula but a seperate species. In addition, R. balansae, R. saadae and R. coodei are rediscovered after their last collection, 159, 126 and 47 years later, respectively and their presence in Turkey has been confirmed. It is found out that R. odorata, R. phyteuma, R. microcarpa and R. stenostachya are not present in Turkey and the reasons are discussed.
Morphological, palynological, anatomical, cytological, numeric taxonomical, ethnobotanical properties and threat categories of the species have been presented.
