Abstract

In the increasingly competitive environment created by globalization, being able to meet customer demands in a cheap, fast, and quality way has become a vital situation for companies. It will be possible for companies to quickly adapt to customer requirements in production; by increasing their flexibility, quality, and cost-effectiveness. In companies that adopt the production strategy based on the engineering order, it is necessary to make sure that production operations work efficiently. Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) is the name given to computer-supported applications that enable the effective execution of production operations. The importance of using the MRP system in the defense industry firms that manufacture the engineering order was not noticed. This study and the importance of using the material needs planning system through the current system state examples in defense industry firms conducting production activities on the order of engineers have been explained. After the literature examination, an example of an application was carried out.
