Abstract

This artwork report covers the analysis of the components of an act of insight in the process of artistic production. The report consists of four sections. In order to provide an insight into the individual artistic narrative, which is the focus of this study, the first analysis deals with subjects related to creativity, which examine the ability to interpret, decode and express. Artistic creativity is observed to be a more internal phenomenon as it is based on personal fiction and mental organization. The section, in which the literature on the concept of creativity is reviewed, establishes the structure of the relationship between artistic creativity and memory. The section, in which the structure of memory is examined, includes the approaches of various theorists. This research, which is shaped in a perspective that can form a point of view on the relationship between memory and art, includes analyzes through artistic productions under the subtitle of autobiographical memory and artistic narrative. In studies conducted on memory, the issue of image is pointed out when talking about the place of the stimulus in mind. Since this subject holds an important place in the artistic production process, the concept of image, the form invention and visibility of the image in the history of art, and its place in contemporary art have been mentioned within the scope of the study. The ceramic works produced within the scope of this artwork report, constitute a narrative through daily events, traces of memory, various moments and childhood memories. These works are produced over a period of time. It is possible to say that, the images in these series of works, which started by focusing on an inner gaze, are layered by evolving, changing and deriving in the process. These works, which are the result of a certain concentration, not only have the potential to present independent narratives in themselves, but also offer a view of an adventure that sets out from an autobiographical memory and grows into an individual narrative.
