Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Isparta Sağlık Hizmetleri Meslek Yüksekokulu İlk ve Acil Yardım Bölümü Öğrencilerinin COVID-19 ile İlgili Bilgi, Görüş, Davranış ve Farkındalıklarının Değerlendirilmesi

COVID-19 is a virus that was first identified on January 13, 2020 as a result of research conducted in Wuhan Province, China, in a group of patients who developed symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath in late December. On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a "Pandemic" with cases exceeding 118,000 in 114 countries and causing 4291 deaths. In this study, an online data collection form was applied to determine the knowledge, opinions, behaviors and awareness of Suleyman Demirel University Isparta Vocational School of Health Services Department of First and Emergency Aid Department students about COVID-19. The data collection form consists of 6 sections. The first five sections of the survey consist of 56 questions, and at the end of the survey there is a 17-item Coronavirus (COVID-19) Awareness Scale. In the first part, there are questions where sociodemographic and some other characteristics are asked. The second part includes questions about the health of the students and his/her family. In the third part, there are questions about disaster experience and education; In the fourth part, there are questions about their knowledge, opinions and experiences about epidemic diseases, in the fifth part, there are questions about knowledge, opinions and behaviors about COVID-19, and in the last part, there is Coronavirus (COVID-19) Awareness Scale consisting of 17 items which will determine the awareness levels of students about COVID-19. In this research, which was conducted between 1 April 2021 and 1 June 2021, 162 (57.9%) of the 280 students who made up the universe of the research agreed to participate in the research and participated in the survey. The average age and median age of the students was 21 years. 67.3% (n=108) of the students were female and 33.3% (n=54) were male. Of the students, 21.6% (n=35) had COVID-19 before, while 78.4% (n=127) did not have COVID-19 before. While 54.3% (n=88) of the students stated that they evaluated their personal knowledge about COVID-19 sufficient; 25.3% (n=41) stated that they evaluated it inadequate and 20.4% (n=33) stated that they did not have an opinion on this issue. It has been determined that, compared to male students, female students travelled less by public transportation (X2=6.59, p<0.01) and consumed more herbal supplements in their preventive behaviors against COVID-19 (X2=9.36, p<0.01). The scores of the Hygiene Precaution Awareness Sub-dimension of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Awareness Scale of the students studying in normal education were statistically significantly higher than second education students. (t=2.21 p<0.05).
