This study purposes, physical education and sports departments investigate the relation between transformational leadership and organizational cultures type according to views of the academic staff. A total of 110 women and 311 man academic staff participated in this study. Data were collected by transformational leadership scale developed by Podsakoff et al. (1990) and organizational culture scale developed by Öcal ve Ağca (2010). Descriptives statistics, Mann-Whitney U-test, Kruskal Wallis test and Spearman Brown correlation analyzis were used to analyse the data. The findings of the study demonstrated that academic staff perceive a mid-level transformational leadership, hierarchy of the dominant culture is perceived as the type of organizational culture and between transformational leadership and organizational culture types was found to be a significant and positive relationship.
