The aim of this study is to develop a non-complex approach which can be used ball mill scale-up.Although ball mill dimensions can be determined by using Bond s method, size distributions and ball mill-classifier interaction can not be calculated. There is no widely accepted model based approach, although a few of them were suggested in the literature. Existing approaches contains several stages and empirical constants and difficult to use by researchers and engineers. Mill feed of an operating copper-moly plant was used as test material. Two ball mills, one of them is open circuit, and used for primary grinding and the other is closed circuit with hydrocyclones ,and used for secondary grinding. Sampling surveys were performed at different operating conditions. Solids content and size distributions of the samples were determined and solid and water flowrates of the streams were determined by mass balancing.
