Karbon Dioksit Tutan Organik Sıvılarda (Co2Tos) Farklı Alkollerin Kullanımının Karbon Dioksit Tutma Performansına Etkisi
Abstract
With the increase in the energy demand, usage of fossil fuels expected to rise.Hence, efficient CO2 capture systems need to be developed to minimize the greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuel combustion. In this thesis work, one of the components of CO2BOLs namely alcohols species were altered and the effect of different alcohol usage on the CO2 loading capacity, the initial absorption rate and the reusability of solutions were investigated.Branched alcohol usage in the systems increased the CO2 loading capacity. As the chain length shortens in primary alcohols CO2 loading capacity remained constant whereas initial absorption rate of solutions increased. The absorption capacity and rates of diol systems were lower than the other alcohol systems;but, having high boiling point values of diols minimized the possible solvent loss during the stripping.TMG used systems have high capacity in comparison to DBU systems whereas initial absorption rate of DBU systems were higher than TMG systems.
