Küresel Barut Üretim Parametrelerinin İncelenmesi, Sentezi ve Karakterizasyonu
Abstract
In this thesis work the production parameters of ball powder are investigated with the purpose of improving the final product quality along with obtaining useful knowledge for the betterment of production practices of a large scale ball powder facility. During the particle preparation studies the chemical composition of the ball powder is not changed but the effect of changes of dispersion medium on the particle formation is investigated. In MKEK plant, in order to obtain spherical particles, gum arabic is being used as a dispersion agent. Here a polyoxyethylene–polyoxypropylene based non-ionic block surfactant, namely Pluronic F68 is tested. Although the so obtained particle dimensions were below the required range, it was shown that Pluronic F68 type chemicals might find some uses in ball powder preparation. Particle coating studies constitute another phase of this thesis work, where the effects of both the coating agent and the dispersion medium were investigated.
