Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesi'nde Yer Alan Siluriyen Yaşlı Birimlerin (Korudağ ve Hazro) Hidrokarbon Kaynak Kaya Potansiyeli
Abstract
The main objective of this study is to determine the hydrocarbon source rock
potential of the Silurian units which found southeastern Anatolia. A total of 29
shale samples were collected from the Silurian outcrops extended in Korudağ and
Hazro regions, to evaluate hydrocarbon source rock potential of these samples.
Organic geochemical analyse including total organic carbon content and Rock
Eval pyrolysis were carried out. In addition, to exhibit the mineral contents of these
samples whole rock and clay fraction analyse have been also performed.
The total organic matter contents (TOC) of the Korudağ samples range from 0.68
to 3.58 % (in weight). The TOC values of the Hazro samples are lower than the
Korudağ samples. The lowest and highest TOC values are 0.24 (SH-11) and 1.48
% (SH-1). Average TOC value for Hazro samples is 0.58 % in weight. The
average S2 peak values of the Korudağ and Hazro samples in turn, 0.41 mg HC/g
rock and 1.03 mg HC/g rock. Tmax values of Korudağ samples as high as 5410C
indicating thermally over maturity. However, the Tmax values of the Hazro
samples range from 4340C to 4410C indicating oil generation window. The HI
values of the Korudağ shales are between 10 mg HC/g TOC and 45 mg HC/g
TOC. However the HI values of Hazro samples are between 75 to 258 mg HC/g
TOC. Having an average value of 134 mg HC/g TOC corresponding to type III gas
prone kerogen.
