Mağara Örneklerinin Esr (Elektron Spin Rezonans) Yöntemi ile Incelenmesi ve Tarihlenmesi
Özet
In this thesis work, it is aimed to date the speleothems collected from the caves around Çatalhöyük Archeological Site by using ESR. For this aim, 8 main samples collected from İncesu, İncikini, Damlataş, Hatçeninini and Obruk-Sızma caves and 33 identical layers determined within these samples were studied. The samples to be used in ESR experiments were irradiated up to 10 kGy for IC3 group and up to 3 kGy for the others after being etched by weak acid solution. Among the observed signals in the measured ESR spectra, only the change of the signal C (g = 2,0007) was studied on in order for dating the samples. The equivalent dose (AΣ) values were calculated using the growth lines of this signal. In order to determine the total dose (Dtot) or annual dose (D) absorbed by the sample, both the internal dose rate and the external dose rate were determined. The concentrations of the radioactive elements (238U and 232Th) within the samples were determined by Inductively Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectrometry
method (ICP-MS) and results were used for calculating the internal and external dose rates.
