Coalsvm: Kömür Damarı Katı Modelleme Yardımcı Aracı Grafiksel Kullanıcı Arayüzü (GUI)
Özet
The accurate representation of the solid model in mineral resource estimation has a direct impact on mine planning and mining method selection strategy. Especially in stratified orebodies such as coal seams, the more geometric continuity of the veins and/or the veins reflects the real situation, the higher efficiency of the chosen mining method obtained.
CoalSVModel graphical user interface was compiled in MATLAB programming language at Hacettepe University Mining Engineering Department and introduced in literature as an auxiliary application for coal seam modeling. The main purpose of this executable version is to produce thickness map with top seam contours.

Separation of the coal seam from the other layers can be defined as a classification problem. In the thesis study, the solution of this classification problem is based on the support vector
machines method. In addition, test studies of each application of CoalSVModel GUI were carried out with data obtained from both synthetic data and real case databases.
In addition, after the program is released, a case study was conducted in a coal field located in Turkey and the outputs of the program were examined. In the case study, possible locations affected by tectonics in the field is determined according to the results of the coal thickness map and contours produced by the program. In addition, additional drilling locations have been proposed to better characterization of the fault zone.
CoalSVModel has a modular structure and will contribute to the literature on coal seam modeling with continuous updates and development with various research topics in future studies. Final output of this thesis work was to give direction to the improvements and updates planned for the future.
