Abstract
This thesis addresses different scheduling methods so as to determine the nodes which are going to transmit for any time slot. In addition to conventional and centralized scheduling methods, a variation of distributed scheduling algorithms specific to the given system is investigated in a multi-hop linear relay network where every hop suffers independent Rayleigh fading, every node has a limited buffer capacity and uses Decode-and-Forward as the cooperation strategy and BPSK as the modulation scheme. Performances of these scheduling methods are evaluated regarding metrics such as bit error rate, throughput, block delay, packet delay and buffer occupancy. The system performance is determined as a function of number of hops, buffer capacity and threshold SNR value. For the evaluation of performances, simulations implemented on Matlab are used.
