With the rapid advancement of technology and the increased use of social media in today's world, our lifestyle and behavior patterns are rapidly changing. With these developments affecting the entire world, people have adapted to and even become a part of this way of life. These changes have had a significant impact not only on people, but also on their environment and living spaces.
Because places are being shaped in response to current conditions, interior designers, designers, and other professional groups shaping the spaces have begun to behave accordingly. With this in mind, social media has been added to those design process criteria and road maps.
Social media has also naturally entered the advertising sector, where it plays an important role in policies aimed at increasing consumption by influencing human perception. People use social media in a natural way, mostly without financial gains, by sharing and interpreting the places they visit, the food they eat, and the items they use, resulting in a natural advertising and perception process. Restaurants and cafes are the first things that come to mind when we consider this situation from the point of view of space design.
The purpose of this thesis is to demonstrate that "social media has an effect on restaurant and cafe interior design in terms of design criteria" through research and spatial analysis.
