In this study, it is aimed that the deficiencies in subjects such as pronunciation and
motivation in individuals’ learning Turkish as a foreign language will be improved by
using rhythm and music as a material in the lesson. In addition, since it is thought that
different types of intelligence can come to the fore in each individual according to the
multiple intelligence theory, it supports the development of various intelligence types.
While learning Turkish as a foreign language, a student whose musical intelligence is
prominent was observed as they have a higher level of motivation and increase in
pronunciation skills thanks to music and rhythm. The programs of teaching Turkish as a
foreign language published by the Maarif Foundation and the Ministry of National
Education were examined, and it was observed that the students' skills such as
pronunciation and vocabulary learning were improved in addition to the four basic skills,
with the use of music and rhythmic elements as material in the practice courses held
afterwards. It has been revealed that music and rhythm have a high level of indirect and
direct contribution to the development of skills in teaching Turkish as a foreign language,
as well as in terms of motivation.
