Bebek A. Turkish adaptation, reliability and validity in a survey on activities daily living and occupations of upper extremity amputees, Hacettepe University, Graduate School Health Sciences, Prosthetics - Orthotics and Biomechanics Program, Master Thesis Ankara, 2022. The aim of this study is to investigate the cross-cultural adaptation, validity and reliability of the Turkish version of a survey on activities daily living and occupations of upper extremity amputees. Necessary permissions for the Turkish version of the questionnaire were obtained from the developer and the authors. The translation of the questionnaire from its original language English into Turkish and its intercultural adaptation were carried out in accordance with the rules of translation methods. A survey on activities daily living and occupations of upper extremity amputees. was administered to 125 upper extremity amputees as test and retest. Internal consistency of the Turkish version was calculated. The Arm, Shoulder and Hand Problems Questionnaire (DASH) and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) were used for the validity analyzes with a survey on activities daily living and occupations of upper extremity amputees. It was found that there was a perfect positive correlation between the test and retest application of the questionnaire (r=0.93, p<0.001). The internal consistency of the questionnaire was made for the 17-item activities of daily living in the 9th part, which includes the general scoring, and ICC was determined as 0.96. A total score was created for the relationship between activities of daily living and VAS and DASH in the 9th part of the questionnaire and a good positive correlation was determined with the DASH total score (r=0.88, p<0.001). It was concluded that the survey is a valid and reliable scale that can be used in clinical and scientific studies in upper extremity amputees in our country. With this study, a questionnaire was obtained for the evaluation of daily life and work-related activities of upper extremity amputees in our country, and it is thought that it will contribute to the decision of the appropriate prosthesis and the planning of rehabilitation processes.
