This study discusses execution and creativity in new media ecology by focusing on
contemporary sculpture art and artists residing in Turkey. This study analyzes how
sculpture artists interpret digitalization and understand its relationship with new media
technologies. It is insufficient to evaluate the period’s artworks only in terms of form
(Huntürk, 2016). Therefore, in this study, how contemporary sculpture artists make sense
of art in new media ecology gains importance.
To understand the adventure of contemporary Turkish art, which started with the
Republican period, and its position in the new media ecology, I will discuss its historical
background and previous studies. I will study interviews with contemporary sculpture
artists and the examination of their portfolios to shed light on the present. This thesis
looks at the relationship between the sculptor and the new media through the
expressions of the sculptors.
This thesis covers topics from the relationship between New Media and Sculpture Art
