Atatürk Dönemi (1923-1938) Türk Tiyatrosunda Folklorik Unsurlar

In this work named “Atatürk Period (1923-1938) Folkloric Elements İn Turkish Theater”, fifty-nine theatrical works written during the Atatürk period were examined and the folkloric elements contained in these works were determined in the context of the theater understanding of the period.
The thesis consists of two parts, after the introduction, in which the relationship between folklore and literature is explained. In the first part, the developments in the field of fine arts, Atatürk's perspective on fine arts and artists, and the state of theater art are mentioned. In the second part, the folkloric elements of the theater works written during the Atatürk period were determined and evaluated.
The theater of the Atatürk period covers an important period of the Turkish theater that developed under the influence of the west. One of the most important features of the theatrical works written in this period is that they can easily refer to the core values and folkloric elements of the people, since they are written with an understanding of art free from pressure and free from pressure, and they play an active role in the construction of national identity by focusing on issues that raise public awareness. Thanks to the folkloric elements in the theater works written in this period, it was both entertaining and effective in increasing the interest of the people in the theater.
