Space includes a formation that moves/identifies with the sensations and movements of the body. The concept of body, on the other hand, takes on different definitions as living, objectifying and experiencing within the general framework of the studies carried out until today, and reveals many different data in body perception. It is seen that these data are quantified with the physical characteristics of the human body in order to meet the needs of time and space and are reflected in the spatial design as numerical criteria, but in the process they become the memorization of design knowledge. In this context, the study arises from the necessity of questioning the memorizations based on architectural elements and ergonomic principles in space design theories in space design practices. Its scope, on the other hand, is shaped through the study of different definitions of space with different methods and application-based design teachings of the school, which is its reference, and the readings of studies that focus on the body's perception of space and the different forms of bodily experience in the definition of space.
Bauhaus, which is a strong reference for current education approaches, creates a new education model in its own period. The practical equivalents of the mindsets of the masters based on Bauhaus Thought come to the fore in the field of literature. By examining the different educational practices/curriculums that the school has within the scope of its design teaching, it is possible to reach the knowledge of how different definitions of space are formed through the body experience. It is reinforced by exemplary definitions of space that the body's understanding of the body, that is, the experience, is an approach that should be prioritized rather than its physicality in space. In this way, it aims to create a thought system focused on sensing, perceiving and experiencing the space. In addition, this study presents different approaches and discussions on incorporating the idea of body-interactive space design into current educational practices.
