In this study, the oral literature, history, music, beliefs, traditions and customs of "Christian Turks in Kirkuk" are discussed within the framework of oral culture.
In the first chapter, in addition to determining the regions, houses, cemeteries and churches, by making searches and field researches about the settlement areas where Christians are densely located in Kirkuk, the historical past is included. In the second part titled beliefs, traditions and customs; The folk songs and folk songs of the Christian Turks in Kirkuk are emphasized and examples are given. Tales, proverbs, idioms, riddles, anecdotes, prayers and curses about nature and nature are included as mastery genres. At the same time, their beliefs, religious ceremonies and children's games were discussed. It has been tried to show how these traditions and customs affect people's lives and way of thinking. In the third part, beliefs, practices and ceremonies related to the transition periods are discussed with examples.
It is seen that this study named Christian Turks in Kirkuk will contribute to future studies on the subject.
