Abstract

The main purpose of this research is making an assessment about prisoner s who are staying a prison, needs of social work practice and in this direction try to find importance of social work practice which is performing in prisons.In the direction of the purpose of the research general scanning model was used. The data that were obtained from the research were collected through the interview form which was intended for the main purpose of the research. Through the research, 222 person who is sentenced and 79 person who is under arrested were interviewed who is staying at Karaman M Type Closed Prison so 301 prisoners were interviewed. The data which were obtained from interview were analyzed with SPSS 15, 0 (Statistics Programme for Social Sciences) Programme.
