This study aimed to compare the General Movements (GMs) analysis of infants with high birth weight or/and post-term births and infants with normal birth weight and term births. Twenty-two infants with high birth weight, three infants with post-term birth and twenty-two infants with normal birth weight were included in the study. Demographic and clinical characteristics of the infants were recorded. As a part of the observational GMs assessment, 3-5 minutes videos of infants were recorded. Fidgety movements were analyzed with Prechtl’s method and motor repertoire was evaluated. The motor optimality score (MOS) of each infant was obtained. There was no significant difference between the Fidgety movements of the study group and the control group (p>0.05). There were significant differences in total MOS score and posture subsection of MOS between infants with high birth weight and infants in the control group (p<0.05). There was a significant negative correlation between the birth weights and total MOS (r=0.461, p<0.05). As a conclusion of our study, it is recommended to evaluate infants with high birth weight or infants born post-term with appropriate neuromotor evaluations and infants who need early intervention should be directed to early developmental physiotherapy programs and the developmental process of these infants should be followed.
