Türkiye'de İş Dünyası ve Siyaset Ilişkisi: TÜSİAD - AKP Örneği

Abstract

This thesis aims at identifying the influence of TÜSİAD (Turkish Industry BusinessAssociation), which is an active interest group having a prominent role in the country seconomy, on the economic policies pursued by the AKP (Government during the twoconsecutive parliamentary terms (2002-2011), particularly in terms of areas andmethods applied. It also provides a historical insight into the development ofrelationship between business associations and politics in Turkey.The relations between business and politics in Turkey acquired a new dimension alongwith the acceleration of efforts for integration with the global economy after 1980 havebeen transformed by the political and economic conditions that have changed after2002. In such periods, business associations and their political influence have becomeincreasingly more important.
