Gramsci ve Bourdieu Düşüncesinde Entelektüel Kavramsallaştırmasının TEKEL İşçi Eylemi Üzerinden Analizi
Abstract
This study definesthe term intellectual as it is depicted in the thinking of Antonio Gramsci and Pierre Bourdieu, and analyzes the discourses of the Turkish intellectual circles throughout the Tekel Demonstrations held in 2010. With reference to the classification of the term intellectual in the theory of Gramsci and Bourdieu, five different segments were chosen and regarded as the intellectuals and representatives of the social structure in Turkey. These are, the businesspeople associations as the representatives of the capitalist class, the professional associations as representatives of the middle class, unions as representatives of the working class, columnists with the power of agenda setting and the academics who are the symbols of scientism. In the beginning, a debate has been conducted to resolve the misconceptions on the term intellectual, the fundamental term in the thesis, and the difficulties in explaining intellectuality as if founded upon specific themes are emphasized. Departing from the idea that the definingcore of the intellectual is that he is a man of action, dynamic within the society, and unifies theory and practice in doing this, it is concluded that the theme that may help us to explain the term intellectual is „praxis‟.
